Attorney David Jancha received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Wabash College in Indiana, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida. Mr. Jancha brings more than a decade of criminal defense and criminal trial experience with him to the table. Whether the charge is a simple misdemeanor or 1st degree murder, Mr. Jancha has the experience to defend you during an undoubtedly stressful time in your life.

While in law school, Mr. Jancha worked as an intern at the 7th Circuit State Attorney's Office in DeLand, Florida.  After graduation and admission to the Florida Bar he accepted a position in Orlando, Florida as a Public Defender in the 9th Circuit.

Working with both the State Attorney's office and the Public Defender's office provided him with a vast understanding of the criminal justice system and extensive trial experience. Recognizing his dedication, commitment to clients, and reputation among his colleagues, in 2010 Mr. Jancha was hired as a criminal trial attorney and became partner at well-known Orlando, Florida law firm. In March of 2019, Mr. Jancha resigned as a partner to fulfill a dream and open his own firm,  Jancha Law, P.A.  

Mr. David Jancha has also been active in the legal community as well. Having previously served on the Board of Directors for the Criminal Section of the Orange County Bar Association and previously elected by his peers to serve on the Board of Directors for the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He is also one of a few attorney(s) who has successfully defended case(s) involving the issuance of FISA warrants and “acting as an agent of a foreign government.” Mr. Jancha’s most recent jury trials have been for the offenses of Murder x2, Vehicular Homicide, Capital Sexual Battery, and Burglary/Theft.

Federal Attorney and Former Managing Assistant United States Attorney Rick L. Jancha  graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1977. He was  admitted to the Indiana and Michigan Bars in 1977, and to the Florida  Bar in 1993.

Rick Jancha started his legal career as a criminal defense attorney. For nine years he defended drug trafficking cases, whit collar crimes and numerous homicide and death penalty cases. He was co-chair of the Criminal Law Section of the local county bar association.

In 1986, criminal defense lawyer Rick L. Jancha was  recruited by the Department of Justice to head up its Organized Crime  Drug Task Force in South Bend, Indiana. In 1989, Mr. Jancha transferred  to Orlando and continued his role as an Organized Crime and Federal  Narcotics Task Force Attorney.

Rick Jancha served as a Manager in the United States  Attorney’s Office in Orlando for five years, where he was responsible  for approving and supervising all criminal prosecutions. For two years,  he served as Chief of the Narcotics Unit for the Middle District of  Florida where he was responsible for supervising every federal drug  prosecution in 35 Florida counties. He also worked with the White House  and Congress in obtaining Central Florida’s designation as a High  Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. He served as Chair and Vice-Chair of  the HIDTA’s Executive Committee, overseeing the development and  implementation of the law enforcement initiatives for sixteen Central  Florida law enforcement agencies.

Due to his extensive experience and expertise in the handling of complex criminal cases, Attorney Rick Jancha has consistently been sought out for his assistance to various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies as well as for victim advocacy  groups. He has instructed members of law enforcement, other federal and  state prosecutors, and international law enforcement personnel  concerning the handling of cases involving international drug  trafficking, money laundering the investigation of computer and white collar crimes, utilization of wiretaps and the prosecutions of cases involving improvised explosive devices (bombs).

Defense Attorney Rick L. Jancha also has extensive  teaching experience in the international arena. On numerous occasions he  has worked with the Department of Justice and Department of State in  the International Programs Section for the Federal Law Enforcement  Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. He has taught judges, prosecutors,  law enforcement and various banking officials in St. Petersburg,  Voronezh, Khabarosk and Moscow, Russia, Tashkent, Uzbekistan and in  Vilnius, Lithuania. Most recently, Mr. Jancha assisted the United  Nations on its efforts to set up an interim government and legal system  in Pristina, Kosovo by reviewing and teaching the new criminal procedure  code and criminal laws to members of the interim government and all  participants within its judicial system.

Mr. Jancha has personally handled more than 100 federal wiretap  applications. His knowledge and experience in the proper procedures that  must be followed by law enforcement to obtain and use “wiretaps” in  court proceedings is an invaluable resource when providing our best  representation to our clients. Mr. Jancha joined a well-known Orlando law firm as a Partner in 2007, and managed the firm’s Federal Criminal Division.

In 2019, Rick Jancha joined his son David Jancha as Of Counsel for Jancha Law, P.A.   In his new position, Rick will continue to practice Federal Criminal Defense and will be accepting a select number of new clients who desire personalized representation backed by unparalleled experience.
